Anna Quayle has died at the age of 86 after suffering from Lewy body dementia.
The actress, who was best known for playing Ms Monroe in Grange Hill, passed away on August 16, her family have confirmed.
Born in Warwickshire to actor Douglas Quayle in 1932, Anna was diagnosed with the condition in 2012.
Her last listed credit was playing the role of Celia Spookfinder in an episode of the Adam's Family Tree TV show in 1999.
She starred in 85 episodes of Grange Hill from 1990 until 1994, and she notably played Baroness Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 1968.
The role became a memorable part of the iconic film for her performance of the song Chu-Chi Face with the Baron, played by Gert Fröbe.
Anna also starred in several plays in the West End, including And Another Thing… and Stop the World – I Want to Get Off.
Her other TV credits included The Avengers, Grubstreet, Brideshead Revisited, The Sooty Show and the religious comedy Father Charlie.
Anna also showed off her comedic talents in regular appearances on BBC comedy panel show What's My Line?
She also starred in films like Drop Dead Darling, the 1967 James Bond spoof Casino Royale and Up the Chastity Belt.
Anna also starred in a Hard Day's Night with The Beatles.
She played Millie, a woman who recognises John Lennon when he is undercover.
In 1976 she married Donald Baker and she had one daughter, Katy.
