Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated and irregular shape. Minimum depth (m): 3425. Maximum depth (m): 3960. Total relief (m): 535. Dimension/size: 44 km x 5 km.    
GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-36. Proposer: National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Philippines. History: 2022.     
GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Philippines survey vessel "Hydrographer Presbitero". Year of discovery: 2004. History: Named from the Malungai (Hopea foxworthyi), a tree species endemic to the Philippines. It is locally common on red sticky volcanic soil along ridges at 600-700m, in seasonal semi-evergreen forest, primary and/or secondary. Its timber is used for general construction, and it is good for soil erosion control.
