BLUESTRIPE CLEANER WRASSE
Common as pairs near large coral heads
or under ledges at any depth. Cleans
parasites from other fishes. The mouth is terminal and the dorsal
fin starts above the pectoral fin base. Mimicked by the
False Cleanerfish, a
blenny. Populations in French Polynesia may have an orange central
zone, or yellow posterior in Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa. Attains 4.5 inches. Red Sea
to French Polynesia, excluding Hawai'i.
