Synonym(s): Smilacina stellata Common Name: 'Star-like false Solomon's-seal'

A handsome woodland colonizer with arching stems of narrow leaves topped with small sprays of with lightly scented, starry white flowers, May-Jun. Followed by berries which turn from green to black in late summer. H50cm S120cm.

Care Instructions

Easily grown in moderately fertile, humus-rich, lime-free, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. Shelter from cold winds. Can spread but forms useful ground cover in shady areas.
