Since transitioning into design 5 years ago, I have focused on delivering a positive experience for the end user, through a lot of facilitated conversation and collaboration across business teams. Recently, I have begun to consider how I might support business teams in telling their collective stories and reasoning to drive alignment and smart decision making. When different teams from across a business, each with competing objectives and constraints come together to solve a problem, landing on a decision that is truly best for the business can be difficult. When the same process I have honed in its application to the end user is leveraged to support business teams, everyone, even the end user, benefits.
Yesterday, I graduated from the d.MBA program with an expanded toolkit of business design resources and frameworks to support organizations in bringing a data-backed, iterative approach to coming to and articulating business decisions.
Though the past 6 weeks have involved a few more nights in than I would have liked otherwise, I am immensely grateful for the team at d.mba and my classmates. Connecting with classmates and alumni across the globe in class sessions, virtual coffee chats, and Slack was an invaluable experience and I am honored to have been a part of it. I feel that much more empowered to use this new set of tools knowing I am a part of a wonderful, supportive community of designers looking to assist business teams in similar ways.
I would love to connect if you want to chat business design, more generally, the application of design in business OR if you want to hear more about my experience in d.mba! I would love to hear from you
