I don't sell myself? Really? 😃 Someone told me I have done well in building a brand on LinkedIn, but I haven't done much in selling myself. It's kinda funny because I thought my title and my profile's about section did spell out most of it. But here's my introduction. I am Ral Andrew. I am a software engineer with over ten years of experience coding, but five-six years of coding professionally. At the moment, I am blockchain-based. I have shared this story multiple times of how I got into the space in 2016, mostly, speculating and researching. But I started collaborating on EVM-based projects in 2021. And I did get my major role in 2022. So basically, I am a smart contract developer/auditor for EVM-based tech/products like Ethereum, BSC, Polygon and others. Am I still involved in Web2 projects? Yeah, largely. Most of my clients are in Web2 including a few government institutions. But I am very selective and most likely to decline taking Web2 roles, because, I want to make a full shift to Web3, which I have been struggling for the past year to do. Majorly, because I haven't achieved the 'minimum years of experience' status quo for Web3 developers, which is amusing. But more on that in a later post. When I am not coding, I am also a Web3 consultant, Developer Panelist and Strategic Director, which are all fancy words for saying I help in research and provide advice to companies/individuals regarding sustainable good products/projects or just thesis research. And I am also a content writer for a few publications. I do host a Linkedin Audio Event every last Friday of the month by 4 pm GMT. We do discuss with professionals in the space on Web3 topics that we have seen evolve over time. We analyze the past, the present and the future of those topics. You can be part of that wholesome conversation by following me and hitting the bell button by my Name and Title in my profile to be notified when the event for the month is published. I am mostly active on LinkedIn (you might not find me anywhere else) and I try to reply every message within 48 hours, it might be longer than that due to my work schedule. If you want to learn more about what I do and how I can be of help to you, do leave me a message. I know. I am posting another picture that I am wearing all black. I do love wearing black. I think it comes with the job. 😅 Shoutout to Owen Healy, Marcos Raso, Samuel Anthony, Aram Mughalyan, Corrales Cachola, Emily Carrig, Nicki Sanders, Ines Kacijan, Edwin Chan, Magnus Jones, LIAM DARMODYᵍᵐ, Xochitl Arteaga, Jordan Gent and every other lovely person here on Web3 LinkedIn. #web3 #developer #blockchain #ethereum #polygon #bsc #audit #smartcontracts #tokens #nfts #defi #products #events #jobs #development
haha, whoever said that doesn't understand how selling works. Selling is an extension of your brand (feelings, emotions, sensory, and desires) and is a result of building authority and thought leadership. And you're doing a killer job of that, this post is no exception!
"minimum years of experience" I hate it when they say that. Especially in this space! I mean come on. I remember seeing a JD with 10 years min experience in a blockchain role 2 years ago which is like no one! Unless you're an OG which also means why the hell would I want a mid level role with them?! Some times companies have no idea what they are doing and it shows 😂
David Acosta did you say you needed a smart contract dev?
Hi, Ral Andrew. Your words inspired me, and I would really love and be happy to connect with you. I am also new into the Blockchain space with just a year and few months of experience. I find it so hard diverting or focusing on another field in tech if it's not Blockchain. But, the big problem is; I am self learning (smart contracts). This is so difficult that I am almost giving up, which is the last thing I'd do. I think connecting with you and learning more from your experience and how you were able to make it so far would help and also set me ready for the journey. Thanks, and I look forward to your response here and would be in your DM also.
I'm really glad to know you better Ral 😁 I think this is a level up from the quick intro you gave us on Friday. 🙌✨
Nice post Ral… it’s always good to put your wardrobe in Dark Mode (all black).
that's cool man - really great to get to know you better! 10/10 post
Hell yeah man, you've got this 💪🏻.
Nice to see you bro

1yThis is funny because I have a post I'm making next week about how everything in life is sales. Everything. Whether you have a business or you're going to a job interview, it's sales. Period. Why do men spend so much time at the gym? Why do women spend so much time at the beauty salon? Sales and the appearance of being or looking successful. . We're all selling ourselves, our skills, and our talents every day. We do that by benefiting others to benefit ourselves. And if we stay vigilant on that path, the universe always rewards us for it.
