Last month, we shared that our OptiMVD constant pressure viscometer became a standard under EN ISO 18335. Today, we’re excited to share that the OptiMVD is now listed in the SAE J300 Engine Oil Viscosity Specifications. The OptiMVD, which measures kinematic viscosity in accordance with ASTM D7945, can now serve as a key test for classification of engine oils in the lubricant industry. As the world increasingly commits to steeper decarbonization targets, the aviation industry is determined to develop sustainable solutions to produce cost-competitive, high-yield jet fuel with minimal environmental impact. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) estimates that the 2024 production volume of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) will triple from 2023 levels – soaring to 1.5 million tonnes. This is in line with larger SAF production trends, as 2023 levels doubled from those in 2022. In this webinar, we will outline the current trends and challenges facing the SAF production and aviation industries, then highlight PAC’s available SAF testing solutions. We’re excited to announce the OptiReader is now listed in jet fuel standards ASTM D1655 and D7566. With this new development, the OptiReader which measures the fuel deposit depths on heater tubes used in the ASTM D3241 JFTOT test, can now serve as a key test for certifying Jet Fuel and Synthetic Aviation Fuel (SAF) for use in commercial and military aviation. PAC’s best-in-class jet fuel thermal oxidation testing system, consisting of the JFTOT IV, OptiReader, and Intelligent Heater Tubes, offers superior performance and reliable results every time, and faster than ever before. As the global standard for jet fuel thermal oxidation testing, the JFTOT IV, delivers accurate and reliable results, continuous monitoring of pressures and flows to ensure method compliance, faster analysis cycle time, and simplified operational capabilities. PAC’s Intelligent Heater Tubes are the only heater tubes available on the market capable of storing instrument data directly to the tube itself, providing reduced record-transcription errors and improved traceability. And, finally, the new standard for multiwave ellipsometry jet fuel thermal oxidation heater tube scanning – the OptiReader – provides extremely fast, highly precise and accurate results in accordance with ASTM D3241 requirements.
