Prosthechea trulla, commonly known as the Spice-scented Anacheilium, is a small to medium-sized orchid species found in Mexico. It can be found in oak or pine-oak forests, occasionally growing on rocks, at elevations ranging from 300 to 1500 meters. It is known to be an epiphyte, growing on trees, as well as a lithophyte, growing on rocks.

The pseudobulbs of Prosthechea trulla are loosely clustered and have a pyriform to ellipsoid shape. These pseudobulbs are laterally compressed and carry two narrow elliptic leaves at the apex. The plant can thrive in both hot and cool conditions.

The inflorescence of Prosthechea trulla is racemose and typically bears 4 to 10 flowers. The flowers are approximately 1.2 inches (3 cm) in size. They are highly perfumed and have a creamy color with dark markings. The fragrance adds to the allure of this orchid species.

Prosthechea trulla blooms throughout the year, with December and January being the peak flowering months.

To cultivate Prosthechea trulla, it is important to provide a frost-free environment and ensure the plant is protected from freezing temperatures. During the winter months, it is advisable to keep the plant dry to mimic its natural habitat. Providing a cover or shelter for the plant is also beneficial.

With the right cultivation conditions, including frost-free environments and dry periods during winter, this orchid can thrive and bring joy with its exquisite blooms.
