Salem man arrested for gun, drug possession

SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A 35-year-old man was arrested in Salem after being spotted by police on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1:30 p.m., Salem officers saw Daniel Ralph Northcutt in the area of the 3300 block of Astoria WY northeast.
Northcutt ran into a hotel and initially refused to exit a room but surrendered, Salem police said.
When police searched the room and car they found two guns, a handgun and sawed-off shotgun, as well as 1.5 ounces and 50 pills of a drug suspected to be fentanyl. They also found $1000.
Northcutt also had outstanding warrants and was lodged at a county jail on the charges:
- felon in possession of a firearm
- unlawful possession of a short-barreled firearm
- unlawful possession of a schedule II controlled substance
- unlawful delivery of a schedule II controlled substance.
