• Flower: Green – red elongated cluster
• Leaves: triangle-diamond in shape, small and irregular lobes, ½-4 inches long, 2 ½ inches wide
• Fruit/Seed: dry seed enclosed in persistent ovary shell that matures from green to brown
• Height: 4-24 inches
• Flowering: July - September
• Habitat: shores, river banks, salt marshes, mud flats, swales
