Inscribed photograph signed: "For Kathleen/Richard Hylton", in
blue ink, Sepia toned 5x7. The American stage and screen actor, Richard
Hendricks Hylton (1920-1962), began his professional career in the fall of
1944 appearing in an original production of The Visitor. Before
appearing on screen, Hylton was cast in three more stage productions including
Medea (1947-1948), The Last Dance (1948), and
The Play's the Thing (1948). Shortly after the closing of The
Play's the Thing, Hylton made his onscreen debut as Howard 'Howie' Carter in
the 1949 film Lost Boundaries. During his six year onscreen acting
career, he was cast in twelve titles which included Halls of
Montezuma (1950), Spark of Genius (1953), and The Big
Story (1954). His last known role before his death in 1962 was that of
Michael in a 1955 episode of The United States Steel Hour.
Unfortunately, at the age of only 41, Richard Hylton passed away. Corners
lightly worn and creased. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Fine
condition.
