RICHARD HENDRICKS HYLTON
The actor signs his name to a fan on a photograph shown in military uniform for a role
Inscribed photograph signed: "For Kathleen/Richard Hylton", in blue ink, Sepia toned 5x7. The American stage and screen actor, Richard Hendricks Hylton (1920-1962), began his professional career in the fall of 1944 appearing in an original production of The Visitor. Before appearing on screen, Hylton was cast in three more stage productions including Medea (1947-1948), The Last Dance (1948), and The Play's the Thing (1948). Shortly after the closing of The Play's the Thing, Hylton made his onscreen debut as Howard 'Howie' Carter in the 1949 film Lost Boundaries. During his six year onscreen acting career, he was cast in twelve titles which included Halls of Montezuma (1950), Spark of Genius (1953), and The Big Story (1954). His last known role before his death in 1962 was that of Michael in a 1955 episode of The United States Steel Hour. Unfortunately, at the age of only 41, Richard Hylton passed away. Corners lightly worn and creased. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
