Rushing Onward & Upward

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6. Great day to all, and to all a great day from your Thorobred family, my name is Cheyenne Rushing and I am currently a member of your sophomore class SGA serving as the Secretary. I come to you all to announce that I will be running for the Executive Board SGA.

I am a 19 year old sophomore nursing major on the path to becoming a travel nurse practitioner. While attending Kentucky State University and many different organizations, I’ve learned to better communicate with not only my peers, but my co-workers, staff, faculty, and myself as well. I’ve built and gained the trust of many including myself, my judgment and decision making to better things not only for me but those around me as well. Throughout my years as a student I’ve improved on a numerous amount of skills and abilities I have, which include but are not limited to, time management, professional development, leadership skills, group togetherness, multitasking, and mental compartmentalization. Being a student has also helped build me into a better individual for myself and the environment around. With the growth I’ve gained in these areas, I plan to achieve my goal of becoming one of your future leaders as a member of the Executive Board SGA.

To achieve this goal of mine I will need all the help and support from everyone. I hope to gain the trust of all of you as I go on this journey on mine to make K-State a better place for us all. Any donations will go towards the campaign such as; flyers, banners, events, food and supplies, merchandise, etc. I want to thank you all of your time and hope you continue beside me during the journey.
