Entandrophragma caudatum

Also known as "Wood Banana", due to its fruits of a shape, similar to a lignified banana, which are about 20 cm long. It is initially a bushy shrub, which in its natural habitat over time becomes a tree up to 30 meters high. It is a plant, which is highly appreciated by green collectors for the particular shape of its trunk, and its versatility as a bonsai. Its leaves are very large and thin, of a lanceolate shape, which form a kind of rounded, diffuse but sparse crown.
