These small erect shrubs tend to be rather straggly so are often planted in groups.
The branches are covered with small ovate leaves. During Spring and Summer they produce masses of pinky-mauve fluffy flowers.
Although the flowers are very pretty, the plants themselves tend to go woody towards the base and need shorter shrubs to be grown in front of them to hide the trunk.
