Tamarix parviflora is a hardy, deciduous shrub or small tree with long, slender branches and small, greyish foliage that turns red in autumn. It has dark brown to purple bark.
In springtime it produces a very attractive display of long racemes of tiny pink flowers all along its branches.
Good in coastal locations and as a windbreak or hedge they can also withstand hot periods.
This is a very long lived plant with specimens being recorded over 50 years old.
