Went to the Mammoth skatepark where a group of really good Japanese skateboarders were skating. None of them spoke English, but they were very willing subjects and enjoyed seeing the results =) This fellow was trying to get a frontside handplant. He ended up getting it on this attempt.
What I did: raw tweaks, vibrance camera raw setting, upped vibrance, slight crop just to give it more of an action feel, upped the contrast, threshold white/black balance, and unsharp mask (300%, 0.2, 0).

Yea, I was impressed. Never seen anyone do that before in person, lol. Seen a lot of other amazing tricks, but not that.
i was going to learn them once, but they turned into pre grab airs lol
They didn't look too bad honestly. As skaters, they weren't anything amazing. They had a couple ok tricks, but nothing too jaw dropping. I suspect this trick is easier than it looks. Give it a shot when you're healed up.
front inverts WILL smash your ribs if you are not careful. But frontside inverts are probly one of the most gnar tricks to date on a skateboard
Yea, I'm guessing that's why he wasn't grabbing for the coping. Also, they were clearly snowboarders, so that's probably another reason.
It is a tough trick =) A trick that definitely takes some guts.
Amazing photo, f/s inverts are so sick.
Did you grab any names of the skaters? I think the Felem dudes are in the states right now.

Nah, they definitely weren't pros. Maybe if they were pro snowboarders or something, but I didn't get that impression. I think they were exchange students from UNLV since a couple of them were sporting hats/hoodies from there.
Ah, I assumed it'd be one of the Felem dudes as there's only a handful of Japanese guys I've heard of/seen footage of that throw down handplants like that. I'd be stoked to be on an exchange program that had parks like that anywhere near it - that coping is well chunky!
