Laxmannia ramosaCommon name: Branching Lily
Meaning of name: Laxmannia honours Erik Laxmann (1737 – 1796), a pastor in Siberia who wrote on Siberian botany and sent specimens to Linnaeus’s herbarium. Ramosa is from the Latin word ramosus meaning much branched.
Distribution: Occurs from Eneabba to Esperance.
Description: A sprawling plant with stems up to 30 centimetres long. Flowers are white with a red stripe and borne along the stems from May to June.
