  • Philodendron scandens 'Brasil' is a variegated cultivar of the classic Heartleaf Philodendron with chartreuse foliage.  Philodendron scandens K. Koch & Sello is a very popular houseplant. Easy to grow, will gain length in no time. Can be grown as a climber or as a hanging plant.

    It shows yellow variegation in form of stripes and splashes.

     

    From the Modern Latin genus name Philodendron (Schott, 1830), form Greek philodendron, neuter of philodendrons "loving trees," form philo- "loving" (see philo-) + dendron "tree" (form PIE *der-drew-, form root *deru- "to be firm, solid, steadfast," also forming words for "wood, tree"). The plant so called because it clings to trees.
