Country info:  Known from the Congo River (Ref. 2801), including the marine lower Congo (Ref. 113719), lower Congo (Ref. 57537), Pool Malebo (Ref. 41585), the middle Congo River (Ref. 4910, 41590), Kwilu (Ref. 41590), Ubangi (Ref. 45441), Ruki (Ref. 41580, 46861), Itimbiri, Aruwimi (Ref. 41590, 106245), Lomami and Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245). Report from the Lindi (Ref. 42480) unconfirmed in Ref. 106290. Type-locality of the syntypes of Barilius christyi: 'Avakubi sur l'Ituri, et LĂ©opoldville' (Ref. 42480).
