Distribution:  Asia: Malaysia, Indonesia, and Borneo.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in swamp forest and streams with soft bottom, usually among leaf litter and aquatic vegetation (Ref. 56749). Feeds on fish and shrimps (Ref. 6868). Possesses a short dorsal spine which can inflict painful wounds (Ref. 6868).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Found in the Kapuas Lakes area in Kalimantan Barat, Borneo throughout the year, but it is more common during the dry season (Ref. 56749). Recorded from Danau Sentarum National Park in the Kapuas basin, Kalimantan Barat (Ref. 56749).
