Description from "Frutas no Brasil" (Harri Lorenzi and others):

Lactescent tree, 6-24 meters tall, native to Central Amazonia and the east coast of Brazil, from Pernambuco to Rio de Janeiro. Simple leaves, usually dense at the ends of the branches. With fragrant, discreet flowers, formed in December-January in the Southeast region. Globose or ellipsoidal fruits weighing up to 1.0 kg, with fleshy-gelatinous pulp, translucent, with a very sweet flavor and skin that is low in latex. Usually only 1 seed.

Uses: Fruit grown in domestic orchards in the tropical regions of the country and often in their natural habitat; the fruits are mainly consumed in natura and are already offered in the fruit and vegetable markets of several cities.

Propagation: Mainly by seeds.
