Kadsura heteroclita
The Kadsura is a rare climbing plant from the mountain forests in southwest China and northeast Thailand.
It produces beautiful, large fruits. We got these fruits ourselves and they weighed over 1kg each.
Because of the beautiful color (there are Kadsura fruits in different colors) we asked for a name in our exotic island Facebook group and then we all agreed on the name “Bursting Star”.
The taste: light and unobtrusive A little sour, then follows a sweet mix of melon, pineapple, some banana, fine exoticism of achachairu and guava also stands out slightly.
A very interesting exotic mixture.
The color of the fruit segments is really amazingly strong. Here you might think they were painted, so bright pink.
Each fruit segment contains one seed - rarely two.
By the way, they are self-fertile. Male and female flowers form together on a plant.
These plants bloom after just one to two years. This plant can tolerate temperatures down to -4 degrees.
Nevertheless, we would overwinter them at at least around 10 degrees.
It also grows in Hawaii (always warm) and has already fruited.
This shows that she can get used to different climate zones.

Die Kadsura ist eine seltene Rankpflanze aus den Bergwäldern in Südwest China und Nordost Thailand.
Sie bringt einmal wunderschön, große Früchte hervor.
Wir haben selbst diese Früchte bekommen und diese wogen je über 1kg.
Aufgrund der schönen Farbe (es gibt Kadsura Früchte in verschiedenen Farben) haben wir in unserer Exoteninsel Facebook Gruppe nach einem Namen gefragt und uns dann alle auf den Namen "Bursting Star" geeinigt.
Der Geschmack: leicht und unaufdringlich Etwas säuerlich, dann folgt ein süsser Mix von Melone, Ananas, etwas Banane, feine Exotik von Achachairu und Guave sticht auch leicht heraus.
Eine sehr interessante exotische Mischung.
Die Farbe der Fruchtsegmente ist wirklich erstaunlich kräftig.
Hier könnte man meinen sie sind angemalt worden, so stark pink.
Jedes Fruchtsegment enthält einen Samen - selten auch mal zwei.
Sie sind übrigens selbstfruchtbar.
An einer Pflanze bilden sich männliche und weibliche Blüten gemeinsam.
Diese Pflanzen blühen bereits nach ein bis zwei Jahren.
Diese Pflanze verträgt bis -4 Grad. Dennoch würden wir sie bei mindestens ca. 10 Grad überwintern.
