Siderasis Fuscata - "Brown Spiderwort" Wandering Jew 4" Potted House Plant!

Siderasis is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants in the dayflower family, first described in 1837. It consists of a single known species, Siderasis fuscata, endemic to the State of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil, though it is also naturalized on the Island of Java in Indonesia.

Common English names of Siderasis fuscata are "bears ears" for their leaves being covered in many tiny "hairs" and their broad oval shape and "brown spiderwort" because the color mix of its foliage sometimes is perceived as "chocolate-colored".



In regards to plant pests: Don't spray your plant with Neem Oil or the slue of other plant pest killers that they sell. Neem oil will definitely kill any pest that your plant may have. It will also most definitely kill your plant as well and the same goes for the rest of the plant pest killers that are widely sold. Use a spray bottle mixed with water and Dawn dish soap. This mixture will break down & kill the soft bodied critters that attack your plant with out hurting your plant. Once you're convinced your plant parasites are dead. Spray your plants leaves off with just water to rinse the soap off. Your plant will come out healthy & shiny!
