Droophead Tufted Air Plant, formerly known as Scarlet Scar (Guzmania lingulata) - This bromeliad has long, strap-like foliage that arches outward from the center. Tall flower bracts rise from the center of the plant. This variety bears vibrant, salmon pink that remain colorful for weeks. It’s an epiphytic plant, meaning it grows in the air and needs no soil. These are potted in a peat/bark mix, but they also grow well mounted onto a slab of wood. When potted, keep the mix moist and it helps to add water into the center of the plant, as well.
