Oxytropis lambertii is a perennial in the Fabaceae family. A native to Euro Asia and North America. Some common names include Lambert's locoweed or purple locoweed. It grows to about a foot tall and wide. The 6-inch leaves are basal that surround the stem. They are in groups of 10-20 covered in silky hairs. The flowers come out in clusters on a spike a foot or so long. The spike can have up to 25 flowers on it at one time. It is in bloom from Late Spring until Mid-summer. Zones 3-6

Germination

Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds and lightly cover with a medium. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover with plastic but maintain a temperature around 65-75F. Germination 7-30 days.
