About this product

Product Information

The groovy deejays at L.A.'s hippest radio station rail against the revenue-hungry corporation that pulls all the strings. Company bigwigs want to load up the airwaves with snazzy rock-and-roll commercials for the Army, but the jocks bristle at the new "improvements" and eventually go on strike to regain control. A crowd of supporters gathers outside as the radio personalities commandeer the station in order to spread their positive, carefree message to the public. Maybe Mull's finest performance, major contemporary music star power in cameos and performances, and a sizzling soundtrack.

Super impressed with this seller! They had the best price by far for this book! Both the cost of the book and the shipping fee was far better than average! The book came exactly as described, it was well packaged and quite a bit earlier than expected! The seller was polite and replied quickly to my messages. I’ll definitely make another purchase soon! Thank you to the seller! Be safe and keep up the great work!

WONDERFUL book! Better than described, in just like new condition [not just good]. Packaged very carefully, shipped very securely. Great seller, would buy from again in a heartbeat! No communication occurred, but I imagine it would have been as good as the rest of their customer service. Very happy with purchase, thank you very much!

  • 80's Movies

Hadn't scene it in quite some time so I forgot how simple the storyline was. Great music and some very funny spots, especially when Martin Mull was pleading for love from his female listeners. Not the best acting to be sure, but the soundtrack made up for any of that. The only thing I disliked about it was the price this particular DVD movie is going for on e-Bay. Most likey, within a year or two it will be one of the DVD's you see at K-mart or Wal Mart in the $5.00 section so $80 bucks was a bit steep for something that brought back some good memories. Still enjoy it though so it was worth the extra amount paid I suppose; It's only money, right?

  • This Schlocky Camp 70s Movie can cost you plenty on DVD

FM is a schlocky 70's flick to be sure. The highlights of the flick are getting to see the early comedic talent of Martin Mull, but more than that, some great period "FM" music and great concert footage from the likes of Jimmy Buffet (back when he had hair) and Linda Ronstadt (about 80 pounds thinner than now - what a babe!). Typical of many 70s flicks, it was shot on very grainy filmstock. I see people groveling over DVD copies of this on the Anchor Bay label and paying $60 or more - I bought it for less than $5 new on VHS and it's no less grainy on the DVD. This movie IS NOT worth paying big bucks for on DVD.

  • Pure Music NO F Words NO Blood No Static At All

Say what you want about FM, the music alone is worth the price, including TWO live concerts and the blockbuster opening theme from Steely Dan, with one of the best sax riffs ever recorded. So what if the film is a little cheesy. One thing it doesn't have is the "F" word in every sentence or blood & gore. The story is, well, easy to follow. But this is as much about the music as the FM station QSKY portrayed in the movie. BTW-the call letters and frequency, 71.1, are both fictitious. For fun, try putting the frequency in a web search. Making this film even more worth while is a short appearance by the stunning Brenda Venus, who also showed up in the Clint Eastwood movie The Eiger Sanction. A movie like this is really about the time period surrounding it. So, the 70s were filled with great ...

  • MUST HAVE if you worked in radio during this era

As a former DJ from the days when we had to cue up vinyl records, this movie is a must have for your collection just so you can pop it in once and awhile and remember when music was real and the listener was more important to the station than the advertiser. Yes by today's standards it's not award winning film-making, but it is a good time capusle back to the 70's and a peek into the real world of radio at that time. I know I was there.
