Karst Shepherd
The Karst Shepherd Dog is of medium size mountain dog, used to guard sheep in the Slovenian Alps and the Karst Plateau from which the breed “ontlenen” it’s name. The national breed of Slovenia is low in numbers. The population size (including puppies, sterilised dogs) of Karst Shepherds was estimated between 600 and 700 in 2008.
