Kathy Burke admits she became 'isolated' and 'hated being a woman' during the menopause as she speaks out on her decision to not have children in new documentary series
Kathy Burke has revealed she has no regrets about not having children as the latest series of her documentary series sees her exploring motherhood.
The second part of the comedian's Channel 4 series All Woman also shows the star discussing how the menopause left her 'isolated', as she declares it as 'the biggest b*****d amongst the female anatomy.'
Kathy, 55, admits 'I didn't want to go anywhere because I hated being a woman during my menopause. I was like "why am I a woman?". I couldn't bear it.'

The acclaimed actress meets with women from all walks of life in the documentary, including a high flying executive who has decided to freeze her eggs in her mid '30s.
The interview prompts Kathy to open up on her own decision to not start a family, admitting there was a time where she wanted to have a child.
'I went through moody broody... well, I met one person and I thought 'if I am going to have a child with anybody it is going to be with this guy,' she explained.

'Anyway it didn't happen because he had a girlfriend and I tried not to sleep with people if they had girlfriends.
'It was also really telling because I obviously didn't want it desperately because I would have made it happen.
The star went on to admit that she wishes societal attitudes to parenting were more forward thinking when she was in her 20s, pointing out:

'I love stay-at-home dads. I think that is so brilliant. If I knew in my 20s you could... meet someone and have kids and he would be happy to be the one the bringing up the children maybe I would have done it.
'But back when I was in my 20s, it was sort of unheard of. I look back and I have no regrets even though I love the babies.'
She added: 'I have no regrets about not having my own now. It can be seen as being quite selfish, but I'm very happy to be selfish. It is my life and that is what I chose to do with it.'

She met with Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson who detailed her extensive plastic surgery as well as the social media trolling she has received for her looks since starring on the reality show last year.
Kathy also visited a plastic surgeon to consider ‘freshening up’ her face who told her it would cost £20,000 to get rid of her 'double chin,' leaving the star to declare 'I'm gonna keep my double chin, my saggy old neck, my rotten old jowls, my miserable lines… I'm gonna keep it all.'
Kathy Burke All Women airs on Channel 4 on Tuesday at 10pm.
