The charming English country cottage that belongs to Iris (Kate Winslet) in the 2006 film The Holiday is completely enchanting. Sadly, it's not real—a facade was built in the middle of an empty field that was extensively landscaped for the movie. But that doesn't mean you can't be inspired by the lovely interior sets, which you can see photos of at Hooked On Houses.

Ralphie's home in 1983's A Christmas Story is one of the most memorable homes on film—so memorable in fact, that the Cleveland, Ohio house has since been restored and turned into a museum open to the public for tours year-round.

Like many of us here at Country Living HQ, George and Mary Bailey couldn't resist a good fixer upper in the 1946 classic It's a Wonderful Life. The couple sets up a last-minute bridal suite in the abandoned "drafty old house" after their honeymoon gets cancelled—and eventually, they move in and renovate. The town of Bedford Falls was actually a four-acre set built on the RKO Ranch in California; you can read more about the making of the film at Hooked on Houses.

While we're willing to bet it didn't come with a home security system as effective as Kevin McCallister, the beautiful suburban Chicago home from the 1990 hit Home Alonesold for $1.5 million in 2012, according to Zillow.com. We just hope whoever moved in doesn't try to sled down the stairs and out the front door.

The most memorable thing about the house featured in 1989's Christmas Vacation? Clark Griswold's over-the-top Christmas light display. According to Hooked on Houses, the Griswold house is an exterior set on a Warner Brothers backlot in California—the suburban street has also been featured in Bewitched, the Partridge Family, and Eight is Enough.

Though not really a Christmas movie, the scenes at the end of the film where the townspeople of Redbud, Vermont stage a charming winter scene for the benefit of two potential homebuyers feature some of our favorite holiday visuals. According to Hooked on Houses, the Cape Cod featured in the film still exists as a private residence in Grafton, Vermont.

The structure where most of the action takes place in 1954's White Christmas is technically not a house, but rather an inn. Though the Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont was only a set built at Paramount Studios soundstage, we can just picture ourselves in this cozy country setting with a mug of hot cocoa, listening to Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney sing Christmas classics.
