Married At First Sight Australia has been full of twists and turns, with surprise exits, intruder couples, and major dinner party drama. Now, one of the experiment's most controversial couples have revealed they tried to leave the show: Jack and Tori.

27-year-old Tori and 34-year-old Jack were paired due to their strong personalities, with the relationship experts hoping they would take on the role of this season's "power couple". However they haven't exactly had an easy ride; during the first dinner party, it emerged that Jack was with his ex-girlfriend just days before their wedding day, while he was also condemned for telling Jono to "muzzle his wife" during an argument with Lauren.

Now, Tori has revealed the pair tried to quit the experiment after the dispute, claiming they didn't feel like they needed to be involved in such drama. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, she said she felt like the experiment was becoming detrimental to their relationship due to other "alliances" making them feel "alienated", particularly during the Couples' Retreat.

"I remember getting to a point where I said to Jack ‘let’s just leave’ probably just after the retreat," she explained. "I was like, ‘let’s just go together, we don’t need to be surrounded by these people, these are not our people, let’s just go.'

"I think we were pretty much set in our ways. We knew that we were never going to have these people on side and we didn’t want them on side," she added, explaining that they eventually decided to stay for their own benefit. "We were there for us and we had a really strong dynamic and a really strong relationship. So I think, we were just armoured up and ready to get to the end, and we’re so close at this point."

Whether Jack and Tori are still together now? Well, we'll have to wait and see.

Married At First Sight Australia continues on E4.
