Sporobolus cryptandrus, or Sand Dropseed, is a native perennial grass species that grows to be about 0.5ft tall and wide but can grow to 3ft or taller with its inflorescens. This lovely grass has unbranched stems and inflorescences that form delicate panicles that are often sheathed in leaves that curl up, creating an interesting texture in the landscape. This species is found on dry plains, slopes and washes below 7,000 ft and flowers May-September, going to seed in the fall. This is species is fantastic for erosion control, making it a favorite for restoration, and it reseeds profusely. No shipping.
