Plant information

You know how, if you see a cute puppy rolling around in the grass, you stop and go “awwww”? Well, if you are any kind of plant lover, Blue-eyed grass just might provoke the same response! This flowering herbaceous perennial forms clumps of grass-like foliage and presents the absolute sweetest little purple-blue flowers with bright yellow centers. A cluster of these plants would make a delightful mat under and around a tree, and the color will be impressive.

Although the common name and the appearance both suggest this is a grass, it is actually in the Iris family, can handle full sun to part shade, and needs a moderate amount of water.  Blue-eyed grass is known to be mostly deer and rabbit resistant, as well, making this plant useful in a garden border.
