Brown Bag Lunch with Puerto Rican Author Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro

A brown bag lunch reading with Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro, a Puerto Rican writer known for promoting conversations on Afro-Caribbean history, literature, and sexual identity, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 12:30 p.m. in Kehr Union, Multicultural Center, room 230.  

Pizarro is the founder and chair of Ancestral Black Women (UNESCO International Decade for People of African Descent.) Her work is characterized by female characters challenging historical discourses and hierarchies of power. She also explores transgression from a LBGTQA perspective.

The LGBTQA and Women Resource Center will provide the bilingual edition “Las Negras/Negras” to engage in a diverse and multicultural conversation with Yolanda.
