General: Gooseberryleaf Globemallow (Sphaeralcea grossulariifolia) is a lanky subshrub with highly dissected leaves and globe-shaped, orange flowers. The flowers of this globemallow are smaller than the more common Desert Globemallow found at lower elevations.
Gooseberryleaf Globemallow is a common component of vegetation communities in dry, well-drained gravelly areas on upper bajadas and into the mountains in the Upper Sonoran (Pinyon-Juniper Woodland), Transition (Yellow Pine Forest), and Canadian (Pine-Fir Forest) life zones.
