Canary endemic
Central and North of El Hierro, West, North and Northeast of La Palma, Northwest, North, Northeast and East of La Gomera, practically the entire island of Tenerife (except Central and West zones), Central and Northwest of Gran Canaria, and South of Fuerteventura.
Lower limit of the laurel forest, in contact with the thermophilic forest. In Tenerife, always in escarpments and rocky walls sometimes on cliffs in the domain of Cardonal-Tabaibal to the thermophilic forest; in La Palma on cliffs of the lower montane floor; in La Gomera in steep places on the lower edge of Monteverde; in Gran Canaria on cliffs and platforms of the lower limit of the monteverde. There have been no censuses or estimates about the population size of this species in the archipelago, there is only a data of 20 copies for a locality in La Gomera (El Tión). (Vice-Ministry of the Environment, 2009)
