A politician’s visit to the ward puts even more pressure on the already beleaguered hospital workforce.

While head midwife, Tracy (Michele Austin), reluctantly papers over the cracks on the ward, Adam (Ben Whishaw) is preoccupied by a distressed older patient.

Shruti (Ambika Mod) suspects a pregnant patient has a violent partner, but struggles to get her alone. At home, Adam attempts to tell his judgemental mother about his relationship with Harry (Rory Fleck Byrne). Adam finally opens up to Harry, but a big secret remains unsaid.
