The leaves are uniquely toothed and the color is green on top and red-violet on the underside. Under ideal growing conditions the entire leaf turns red-violet. Preferably give the stems some space. New offshoots emerge from the base. It is advisable to prune the old and longest stems to create space for the new shoots. Also ensure there is sufficient nutrition at the roots.
