About the author

jd young, a displaced Bronx native, resides in Virginia with her husband. She has published four books. The first two, Scarlett’s Letters and The Butter Pecan Diaries are filled with laughter and wry humor and have been described as a cross between Erma Bombeck and Dave Barry. Both books have a five star review on Amazon. She was recently featured in the Writer’s Digest 2014 Fall Author Spotlight for her novel The Woman on Pritchard Street, the first book in the Vasile Chronicles Trilogy. This current offering Dancing With Demons & Other Bedtime Stories opens the door to reveal her intense and often times darker view of life. She believes her remote and heavily wooded haven with moonlight shadows and bumps in the night fuels her imagination to run the gamut from ordinary, to fearful, to bizarre. Dancing With Demons is not bedtime reading for the faint of heart. She said, “We have come to believe that evil and terror wear masks that are easily identifiable. These stories will encourage you to rethink everything you thought was safe – even the elevator in which you ride.” Her short stories and prose have been published in several Anthologies including The Writers of Chantilly and The Pen to Paper Writers of Culpepper as well as the Fredericksburg Literary Review. She is a member of Windmore Foundation for the Arts and has taught classes on writing for their members. The Woman on Pritchard Street is the first in a trilogy subtitled The Vasile Chronicles. Book II – I Am Mira is due for publication in February 2015.
