Best Quo Album By Far
Never has Quo rocked as hard or as good as on Quo...to me this is the ultimate Status Quo ablum...it even features a killer acoustic build up number called "Lonely Man" which I think is one of their best and most melodic sounding songs they've ever written...it's nothing like their usual boogie style...wish they did more tunes of this calibre...that tune added to the classic one two punch of Backwater & Just Take Me that get's the album of to a high octain start and the hard rockin' Drifting Away and the heavy boogie that is Don't Think It Matters make this a classic album IMO...if I were to recommend any Quo album to a friend I'd tell them to start with this one.

QUO is unique among albums by Status Quo in that it's much darker and heavier than their other 70s albums. This album, like the others features plenty of rockin' good times, but there's a sense of foreboding in nearly every track. The album's overall tone seems to carry a message that even if you're self-indulgent, you might still make it alright, but don't bet on it. It's this cautionary feel that inspires me to look at pictures of TV and movie hotties as a deterrent to self-indulgent behavior. The band members' belief that the young Australian tourist jailed in Indonesia since last spring on drug-smuggling charges was unjustly convicted makes this CD an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.

I bought this LP back in the 70s, looking for something a little different from Uriah Heep/Deep Purple/Black Sabbath. I liked it, but never sought it out on CD. Finally checked it out after hearing Status Quo on Jim Ladd's radio show on Sirius XM Deep Tracks. After reading these reviews, finally got this CD, During the first 2 songs, I realized I actually LOVED it!! The sound is spectacular; clean, but with depth. And the performance is straight-forward. I don't like to use the word "simple", but this just gets right to the point; just good rock and roll without the grandstanding, ego-centric, self-indulgent delivery. I rate this "buy now!!"

If "Pictures of Matchstick Men" is all you know about Status Quo, pick up on this 1974 gem. The third track, "Break the Rules" got the airplay, but this is worth purchasing for the track "Lonely Man" alone. It's amazing that we in the States have heard so little about this group- they really rock!

I bought this CD for my dad for his birthday, and he was ecstatic. He had been looking for a CD of Status Quo for awhile, and he had asked if there was any chance I'd be willing to order it for him online (he's not very tech savvy). So I got it for him as a gift -- great choice by me!

I'm rebuilding my Quo collection. This one fits in just fine. Quo is the kind of music that I listen to when I'm calm. To get there something quite different is needed.

I have had most of Status Quo's albums since 1974. " Quo" has always been my favorite.

Meilenstein der des Rock Genre.
Kein bekannter Titel auf diesem Album. Rossi und Parfitt können nur 2 Akkorde? Eine Beleidigung zweier Ausnahmegitarristen.
Hier ist jeder Song mitreißend. Gitarrenspiel? Anspieltipp, Slow Train. Diesem Album gehört ins vorderste Regal.
Dankeschön für das irre Ding. Das beste von Quo. Enttäuschung ausgeschlossen.

I have listened to this since it came out. I like their versatility on this as well as sounding like a new band trying their best Just as good as this album is the number of years they have stayed at it. I like an aged band that wants to be on the stage playing for people instead of just counting their millions.

I am starting to collect my Quo vinyls again and decided to purchase this album. I received the item in excellent condition for its age and in good time and very prompt and courteous service. I have to say that this album just rocks! From start to finish this album is brilliant and is one of my favourites from the early frantic four era and shows the talent of mainly the Lancaster/Parfitt song writing partnership they had back in those days. Lonely Man should have been a single release without a doubt. When the frantic four got back together last year they should have played this album "live" in its entirety cos it would have blown the roof off the concert halls. My only other tip if you have this album is: Listen to it LOUD!! Rock On!!!!
