The Fishing
Battling Gold on the Paraná River
The mighty Paraná River beckons with an extraordinary fishing adventure unlike any other. Get ready to challenge yourself against some of South America’s most legendary fish:
The Dorado Frenzy: The Dorado, a ferocious predator, is the undisputed king of the Paraná. Witnessing packs of these “bruisers” chase baitfish and explode on lures is an unforgettable spectacle. Dorado fights are legendary – once hooked, they’ll shred line from your reel like an express train. Be prepared for an epic battle!
Gearing Up for the Challenge: Whether you choose the precision of fly fishing, the excitement of lure fishing, or the traditional approach of bait fishing, success depends on the right equipment. Dorado here can reach a staggering 30 pounds, so strong leaders and heavy-duty tackle are essential. We recommend 8-9 weight fly rods with sinking tip lines, and MH rods for casting and spinning lures with reinforced hardware for these aggressive fish.
A Fishing Paradise Awaits: The Paraná River boasts an incredibly diverse ecosystem, offering a variety of fishing grounds to explore. From deep channels and gullies to sandbars, lagoons, and rocky points, this is a true angler’s paradise. Experienced guides will help you navigate these varied locations, maximizing your chances of landing trophy fish.
Beyond the Dorado: While Dorado takes center stage, the Paraná offers a wealth of other exciting species to target. Battle colossal Surubi catfish exceeding 60 pounds on live bait, or experience the adrenaline rush of fly fishing for Pacu, a powerful fish known for its explosive strikes. With Pacu, you can experiment with various techniques, using small streamers, insect imitations, or even fruit flies to tempt these curious fish (in season).
From Action to Relaxation: Enjoy the thrill of casting from a boat, drifting along the river, or wading from the banks, strategically targeting fish near rocks, wood structures, or islands. After an exhilarating day on the water, our comfortable facilities provide the perfect haven to relax and share stories of your conquests.
