My little guitar is a Fender CT-60S

Solid spruce top, lam sapele back & sides. Plays great, sounds good, does what I need a small/traveler to do. I put a Journey (K&K-style) pickup in it, and it sounds pretty decent plugged in, too.

Shame Fender discontinued this model.

I'm not so fond of the piezo sound, but the playing was very enjoyable. Your son is super talented.
Thanks MC1.

The sound you heard came direct from the sound hole of the guitar.

This was recorded with his iphone.

This Martin isn't an Acoustic/Electric.

Default What is your smallest guitar, and how do you feel about it?

My Little Martin is my smallest guitar, my soprano uke is my smallest stringed instrument. One is plastic and waterproof for the beach, the other sturdy laminate for camping trips or long car rides. The Martin has stayed in a tent at the beach with 95% humidity, ridden down bumpy gravel roads strapped to the back of a motorcycle, been passed around a hundred campfires, been used by three teenage girls learning guitar, and it still looks pretty good, stays in tune and has decent action. It doesn’t sound great but it does the job and protects the rest of the herd. Some day I’ll pass it on and get a Furch Little Jane, those look really cool.

I went back and listened again, and you're, of course, correct. But it does sort of have a less than full bodied sound, and some sort of piezo twang, something about the way the notes resound. Maybe he has super low action, and it's hitting the frets. Or maybe some post processing.

Still, nice playing. Thanks for straightening me out and for sharing. The important thing is that that is fine playing.

Eastman E20p... Absolutely love it. It’s becoming my favourite guitar, tone is ridiculously rich and full.

Japanese made guitar from the mid 70’s. OM size and sounds very nice but I can’t get along with the V neck profile. But I still play it a lot because of her tone.

Thanks MC1, and you are correct.

What you're hearing is more of the strings hitting the frets instead of the sound coming out of the sound hole.

I still think it sounds good, but could have been way better had he done the proper dual mic set up.

My smallest guitar? The indestructible Little Martin as described above. Also as described, tough but not the best sounding guitar out there. Yep, that's my smallest guitar.
I also own a Martin Backpacker.

Wow, what a great looking guitar. I would love to hear a sound clip of that Collings if you have one.

My Santa Cruz hogtop PJ is my smallest guitar. Wonderful instrument. Clear, responsive, and it has plenty of volume. Beautiful as well. Gets played every day. Have a 0018vs too. Big fan of smaller guitars.

Jeff

I have 3 smaller guitars:

baby Taylor; which I don't play anymore

Alvarez AP70 - a 00-size; I really enjoy noodling around with this one; I got a very good deal via our local Craigslist. As has been noted, it needed a setup but once done it's been great to play and I'm impressed with the sound...

Composite Acoustics Cargo - this supplanted the baby Taylor for any travel. I love this thing. I also play it around the house. I like the way it feels and sounds, and that I can cram it into any airline overhead bin and not worry (remember those days, of airline travel?). I also used to cram some of my clothing inside this guitar's lower bout!.....which then gave me more room in my luggage........

Smallest guitar is technically a martin backpacker. I hate it, but I'm glad I have it.

Smallest real guitar is the Waterloo WL-K. I love it, and I'm glad I have it.

I had a '66 LG-0 that I really liked, and currently have an L@-2. I love it and even used it on our praise team at church before...'s funny, I was just thinking earlier tonight about using it again this week...
