The Atlas of the Endemic Vascular Plants of Mongolia is the first atlas of the
Mongolia flora ever. An annotated checklist of endemic vascular plant species for
Mongolia is present. The findings of checklist of endemic vascular plant species to the
flora of Mongolia, which was on the species level have been made by since of last
cВБsГecЗИs Вf Зhe Conspectus of the vascular plants of Mongolia UЕgaАal eЗ al.
.
The previous endemic 36 species (these species are occurred in territory of China,
Kazakhstan, and Russia) are out from the present endemic to Mongolia at this time and
place in charge of sub-endemic group to the vascular plants of Mongolia. The six
endemic species new recorded in this book.
This book contains taxonomy, distribution, lifeform, habitat, typus and other
information of a total of 120 species (included 12 subspecies) are endemic vascular
plants (3.83%) belonging to 49 genera and 19 families of Mongolia updated and is
presented. The most of families and genera richnest in endemic species are Fabaceae
(40 species), Asteraceae (23 species), Rosaceae (16 species) families and Astragalus (22
species), Oxytropis (13 species) and Potentilla (12 species) genera and most of
indigenous endemic species are Mongolian Altai mountain range (41 species), Khangai
mountain range (26 species), and Gobi regions (15 species). Also included of 25 species
paleo-endemics (20.8%) and 95 species of neo-endemics (79.2%) to the vascular flora
of Mongolia. The endemic plants includes ЗВ sГecies as veЕМ ЕaЕe VR ,

INTRODUCTION
The Mongolia Republic is situated in the temperate zone and lie
between longitudes 87052` and 119058` to the east and latitudes 41045` and
51005` tho the north within the territory of the East Asia.
Based on field data obtained since Gubanov`s (1996), and CВБsГecЗИs
of the vascular plants Mongolia (Urgamal et al. 2014) conspectus and all
available literature, we present an updated list of the endemic taxa of vascular
plants of Mongolia archipelago including distribution, habitat and estimated
population size.
The 143 endemic plant species are listed for the flora of Mongolia
according to Gubanov (1996) and another informations about the endemic
plants of the Altai mountains Bekket et al. (2015), Pyak et al. (2008), Khangai
mountains Ganbold (1989, 2010), and to the vascular flora of Mongolia is given
by Grubov (1976, 1982, 1984, 1989), Ulziykhutag (1984, 1989, 1990, 2003,
2004), Magsar (1995), Dariimaa (2003, 2014), Oyuntsetseg & Urgamal (2014),
Urgamal et al. (2014, 2015, 2016), German (2015), Urgamal (2016, 2017) and
etc (Table 1).
We follow the division of Mongolia into 16 phytogeographical regions,
which has been introduced by Grubov (1982). The phytogeographical regions
are defined (Fig. 1).
The herbaria at the Institute of Botany of Mongolian Academy of
Sciences (UBA) and at the Department of Biology of the National University of
Mongolia (UBU) were checked for new findings and the material was partly
critically revised.
Nomenclature and systematic placement of the vascular plant species
are based on Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (APG IV, 2016), Angiosperm
Phylogeny Website (APWeb version 13), International Plant Name Index (IPNI),
W3 Tropicos, World Checklist Selected Plants (WCSP).
Monographs and published papers dealing with the flora and vegetation
of Mongolia were systematically evaluated for new vascular plant taxa for
Mongolia and new taxa for the individual phytogeographical regions.

Knowledge of the endemic vascular plants to the flora of Mongolia has

plant species and their distribution known at that time from Mongolia.
Plant names are cited with author names following Brummitt & Powell
(1992) and the International Plant Name Index (IPNI; http://www.ipni.org)
along with the citation of the reference where the relevant plant name was
published. For endemic species described based on Mongolian type material,
the locus classicus of the type collection is cited. Species are arranged sorted
alphabetically within the family.
CONCLUSSION
The findings of checklist of endemic vascular plant species to the flora
of Mongolia, which was on the species level have been made by last conspectus

At a present, a total of 120 species (included 12 subspecies) are
endemic vascular plants (3.83%) belonging to 49 genera and 19 families of
Mongolia updated. The most of families and genera richnest in endemic species

As of May 2017 the Mongolian flora had registered a total of 120 species
(included 12 subspecies) are indeginous endemic (3.83%) belonging to 49
genera and 19 families to the vascular flora of Mongolia to according the most
recent Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (APG IV, 2016) classification and since of
last conspectus (Urgamal 2016).

The first time article reports on the indeginous endemic 120 species are

The most of endemic species are Mongolian Altai mountain (50
species), Khangai mountain (36 species), Gobi Altai regions (26 species) and
few species are Alashan Gobi (2 species).
At present time 6 species (Aconitum kamelinii Solovjev, Anoplocaryum
tenellum A.L. Ebel et Rudaya, Astragalus pseudochorinensis N. Ulzij., A.
pseudotesticulatus Sanczir ex N. Ulzij., A. rudolfii N. Ulzij., Ranunculus
arschantynicus Kamelin, Schmakov et S. Smirnov) are new recorded of endemic
plants groups to the vascular flora of Mongolia (Urgamal 2017).
