Ethnobotanical Features of Ziziphora L. (Lamiaceae) Taxa in Turkey2020 •

The current research aims to investigate some eco-physiological factors of Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. subsp. rigida (Bioss.) Rech. f. in different habitats. Studied parameters included topography, climate, and physiochemical properties of soil. Co-dominant plant, phenology, and vegetation variation were considered, too. In following, the effect of different climatic conditions on some physiological traits of Z. clinopodioides were investigated. For this purpose, five Z. clinopodioides populations were collected at two phenological stages (vegetative and full flowering). The highest density (0.37) and frequency (23.33%) were registered in Deh Bala and the lowest were in Damgahan and Tezerjan. Based on standard methods pH (7.5-8.0) and EC (0.633-1.470 dc/m) were calculated and the calculated data was different in various habitats. The content of chlorophyll a (9.73–13.18 mg/g), chlorophyll b (2.02–2.88 mg/g), total chlorophyll (11.76–15.98 mg/g), carotenoid (4.48–5.95 mg/g), proli...

Phenotypic and Genotypic Assessment of Some Iranian Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. Ecotypes2021 •

Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam., (Lamiaceae), is a perennial herb which is used as traditional medicine in Iran. Different authors disagree on the number of subspecies. In general, taxonomic and biosystematic studies of Ziziphora clinopodioides have been limited and no molecular phylogenetic or biogeographic study of the species has been carried out. Therefore, the aims of this study were (1) to determine the number of subspecies, (2) to produce information on the species' genetic structure and intra-specific genetic variability, and (3) to produce data on the probable date of appearance of Ziziphora clinopodioides in Iran. We used a combination of morphological and molecular data to study plants randomly collected from 5 geographical regions. Both analyses revealed a high level of within population variability and grouping of the studied provinces produced an admixture that indicated the absence of any subspecies within the species. STRUCTURE analysis and K-Means clustering ident...
This paper revises the genus Nepeta for the family Lamiaceae for the Flora of Iraq project. We describe a new species, Nepeta iraqensis, and four new records Nepeta congesta subsp. cryptantha, N. stricta, N. lamiifolia and N. iodantha for Iraq. Lectotypes for six taxa are selected and comments on complex species are given. In addition, two new synonyms are given here for the first time. In all, we describe with identification keys, 19 taxa, three of which are endemic to Iraq.

Stachys multicaulis Benth submitted as a new record in Iraq for the first time. The species mentioned in flora Iranica but it was not collected in Iraq till 2015 when it has been seen and collected from the Persian foothill (FPF) east of Baghdad, near Derbendikhan Lake. The morphological characteristics, habitat and geographical distribution have been provided.

The results are obtained which expand understanding of the semi-woody plant structure. Ontomorphogenesis and life form of Ziziphora interrupta Juz., growing in Tajikistan, were studied. It was established that the ontogenesis of individuals is simple, incomplete, its duration is at least 14-16 years. The multivariance of ontogenesis is revealed, expressed in the rates of development and omissions of ontogenetic states. The description of the formation shoot showed that the individual is characterized by a basisympodial growth and the formation of the life form of a dwarf subshrub.
