Alyssum austrodalmaticum was originally described as an endemic species from southern Croatia. It has been considered a dubious taxon because its holotype specimen got lost and because of the scant information contained in the protologue. To settle the interpretation of the name and its application to other Western Balkan populations, a neotype was recently designated. Soon after, the lost holotype specimen was accidentally rediscovered. It is in agreement with the (now superfluous) neotype and the most recent circumscription of the species. Here we present the holotype, summarize the previous uncertainty surrounding this taxon and list all its herbarium specimens from Croatia and adjacent regions deposited in the herbaria CNHM, ZA, ZAHO and ZAGR.

Abstract. New chorological data are reported about 16 taxa from floristic regions of Sofia (3 new species), Mt Vi-tosha (6 species), Rila Mts (7 species new or confirmed), and Mt Sredna Gora (Western – 3 species). The distribution of Thesium linophyllon, a rare species for Bulgaria entered in the Red Data Book of the PR Bulgaria, has been confirmed for the Mt Vitosha region (Mt Plana), two populations of which were found.
Chepan Mountain is located in Western Bulgaria. It is part of Balkan Mountains on the territory of Balkan Peninsula in Southern Europe. As a result of this study in Chepan Mountain on the territory of only 25 km2 were found 784 species of wild vascular plants from 378 genera and 84 families. Such amazing biodiversity can be found in Southern Europe only. The floristic analysis indicates that the most of the families and the genera are represented by a small number of inferior taxa. The hemicryptophytes dominate among the life forms with 53.32%. The biological types are represented mainly by perennial herbaceous plants (59.57%). In the flora of the Mountain there are 49 floristic elements. The most of the species are European-Asiatic floristic elements (14.54%), followed by European-Mediterranean floristic elements (13.78%) and subMediterranean floristic elements (13.52%). Among the vascular plants, there are 26 Balkan endemic species, 4 Bulgarian endemic species and 26 relic species. The species with protection statute are 66 species. The anthropophytes among the vascular plants are 390 species (49.74%). The information about invasive alien plants species in the mountain is published for the first time.

Opuntia fragilis (Nutt.) Haw. (Cactaceae) in the Bulgarian floraOpuntia fragilis (Nutt.) Haw. (Cactaceae) is the smallest and most cold-hardy species of genus Opuntia in North America. In Bulgaria it is grown as an ornamental plant, but in 2019 a population of this species was discovered by other researchers in natural habitats in Lozenska Mt (Western Bulgaria) at 630–660 m a.s.l. on an area (extent of occurrence) of ca. 100 m2. In July 2020, we established a population of this species on the Black Sea coast near the town of Primorsko (Eastern Bulgaria) at 5 m a.s.l. on an area of ca. 300 m2. The distance between the two populations is 360 km in a straight line and their origins are independent of each other. The two localities of this species are so far the only ones described not only for the territory of Bulgaria, but also for Europe. Data are given on the conditions characterizing each of the localities. The possible reasons for the appearance in natural habitats of this alien plant species for the Bulgarian flora are considered. The impacts...

Section Gamosepalum has been reported from Turkey for the first time by Dudley. In recent years, several species of this section were reported as new records for Iran. Four species of Alyssum section are tranfered from sect. Alyssum to sect. Gamosepalum with considering of important characters in each section. These changes made two synonymies. Five species of Gamosepalum section including A. lanceolatum, A. persicum, A. lepidoto-stellatum, A. mulleri and A. baumgartnerianum are present in Iran. Identification key of accepted species and distribution map of them are given. All specimens examined in the present work are deposited at FUMH, G, TARI and W.
