Original hand colouring. Description: This scarse medical healing plant print originates from: 'Afbeelding der Artseny-Gewassen.', a Dutch edition of 'Icones Plantarum Medicinalium. Abbildungen von Arzneygewaechsen.', by J. Zorn, Nurnberg, Germany, 1780. This plate is from a 1796 Dutch edition, consisting of 5 volumes with 500 plates. We will include the original register on a first come first serve basis, because several are printed on one sheet, or a copy of this register. We acquired a small incomplete lot of prints from this work and did not see it offered anywhere else.Artists and Engravers: Author: Johannes Zorn (1739-1799) was a German pharmacist and botanist. He was especially interested in the botany of the new world and is perhaps most famous for having the plant family 'Zornia' named after him. This plate is engraved by J.S. Leitner after B. Thanner. Condition: Fine; some light age related toning as usual. Carefully study our scans as they are a good enough quality to judge its condition.
