Growing: Since it’s a fruit producing crop, it does best in sunny positions with rich, moist soil. Currants are fairly hardy and are a reliable food crop with climate change getting more severe.
Edibility: Berries are edible and are quite delicious.
Permaculture Uses: Both the black and the red currants do really well in our climate here in the Northwest and are great additions to a food forest.
