Acer Predator with i9-14900HX, Swift Go with Core Ultra 155/125H
Acer laptops featuring Intel’s new hardware have been leaked by retailers.
The Taiwanese company is preparing to update its entire lineup of Intel laptops. The Predator Helios series, which is Acer’s top gaming laptop line, will get an update to the new Core i9-14900HX processor series. However, in this case, ‘new’ may be an overstatement.
The Intel 14th Gen Core-HX series is essentially an update of the current chips. Gaming enthusiasts can anticipate slight increases in clock speeds and potential adjustments to core arrangements. However, it’s worth noting that the leading SKU in the Core i9 lineup will not feature additional cores. These processors, officially belonging to the 55W unlocked series, can be equipped with a maximum of 8 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores.
At least two systems equipped with said i9-14900HX processor are to be released soon, namely the Predator Helios 18 and 16, where the number describes the screen size. Both laptops are equipped with 2560×1600 resolution panels, but with varying size and refresh rate of either 240Hz or 250 Hz. Furthermore, the 18-inch version will use an IPS panel whereas the smaller laptop gets Mini-LED technology.

Acer is also refreshing its Swift Go series with a brand new Meteor Lake CPU series known as Core Ultra 100H. These laptops are not designed for gamers, on a contrary they do not even have discrete graphics. However, new Core 100H laptops will feature up to 8 Xe-Cores based on Alchemist Xe-LPG architecture, which is probably enough even for some light gaming.
According to retailer listings, these systems will come with 14 inch OLED panels with 2800×1800 resolution. Customers will have a choice between Core Ultra 7 155H and Core Ultra 5 125H processors. Systems will also vary depending on their memory capacity (16 or 32GB) and storge (512GB vs 1TGB).

Meteor Lake CPUs are based on a new architecture and come with upgraded integrated Arc graphics, whereas the 14000HX series prioritize CPU performance and will usually be paired with discrete gaming GPUs like RTX 40 series.
