Decumbent or ascending perennial; stems slender to 30 cm long, glabrous or with very occasional short spreading to retrorse hairs. Leaves and stipules subsessile or shortly petiolate, c. equal, mostly in whorls of 6, occasionally with some whorls of 4 or 5, rarely with some whorls of 7 or 8, oblanceolate, 3–12 mm long, (0.5–)0.7–2 mm wide, acute to subacute, occasionally obtuse, glabrous or with few hairs on abaxial midrib and near apex and margins, margins recurved or narrowly revolute. Inflorescences terminal or axillary cymes, 1–5 flowered, longer than leaves. Corolla c. 2.5–3.5 mm long on male flowers, c. 1.5–2.5 mm long on females, white; corolla-tube shorter than to longer than lobes. Fruit deeply 2-lobed; mericarps subglobose, 1.7–2 mm long, black, glabrous or with scattered broad-based short triangular hairs. Flowers spring.
