A shrub up to 2 m; young twigs slender, persistently white-villous. Leaves obovate to orbicular, 10-20 x 6-15 mm, apex obtuse to mucronulate, base cuneate, glabrous and green above, white-tomentose beneath. Calyx teeth triangular-lanceolate, shorter than or as long as tube. Flowers 10-15 mm diam.; petals 5-8 mm, villous outside; fruiting racemes tomentose. Fruit subglobose.
