Kawasaki has launched its first two electric motorcycles, the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1, in the United States. The EV duo share the same powertrain and features, but have different body styles, with the Ninja e-1 being a fully faired motorcycle and the Z e-1 being a naked one.
Talking about the powertrain, both motorcycles get a pair of removable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries that deliver a claimed range of 65 km per charge.
However, it is not clear if the claimed range is delivered by a single battery or both batteries combined. The batteries are paired to a 9 kW motor. The two electric siblings from Kawasaki get two riding modes namely, Eco and Road mode.

The Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 both come with a number of features, including LED lighting, two ride modes (Eco and Road), eco-boost, walk mode (with reverse), ABS, TFT full-colour cluster, storage box, and smartphone connectivity. Both motorcycles get a split-seat setup while the Ninja e-1 gets a faired body, and a visor to give it an aggressive look. On the other hand, the naked Z e-1 gets a single-pod headlamp, and tank extensions etc.
The suspension duties on both the EVs are performed by telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock unit at the rear. For braking, the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 get 290mm and 230mm discs in front and rear, respectively.
The Kawasaki Ninja e-1 is priced at $7,599, ex-showroom, while the Z e-1 is priced at $7,299, ex-showroom. Stay tuned to TOI Auto for latest updates on the automotive sector and do follow us on our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
